Sveza is preparing a broader use of industrial robots at its Tyumen plywood mill. The investment programme combines several material-handling operations, making the site a pilot for automation across production rather than a demonstration of a single machine.
A programme for the Tyumen mill
Interfax reported on February 4, 2025 that the group was investing around 400 million roubles in robotic systems at the plant. The company linked the project to a shortage of skilled workers. Installation was planned during 2025, so the announcement described an implementation programme, not a completed year's production result.
Tests focus on the way sheets move
In its announcement of the same date, Sveza said that more than twenty manipulators would cover four processes. Early testing with the project integrator examined machine settings, productivity, plywood stacking accuracy and the gripping of veneer sheets. The intended tasks included sorting, repairing material and feeding sheets into package assembly.
