Belarus is discussing cooperation with Russia on train assembly or a joint venture to restore production at Stadler Minsk. Interfax reported the talks on September 26, 2024, citing Transport and Communications Minister Alexei Lyakhnovich through BelTA. He referred to two Russian companies without naming them in the report.
The agency gave the plant's capacity as 120 railcars a year. That is a capacity figure, not evidence of current output or an announcement that production has restarted. Railcars should also not be counted as complete trains: the number of vehicles in a train is a separate specification.
